Under the Surface | a short film

I created a piece called Lady in the Lake (Savannah) months before I created this film. I wanted to explore her more and understand her personality and the world she inhabited. Frog was a character that I thought would help further her story by also making her a bit more mysterious. I wanted Frog to feel more flimsy and silly in comparison to the unbothered of Lady. Their relationship is that of pranks and mischief, a seemingly never ending cycle between the two.

The environment was heavily inspired by that of the bayous and the architecture in Savannah, Georgia. I wanted to create an environment that felt familiar yet eerie in a naturalistic way.

This project was created with Procreate, Adobe Animate, Adobe After Effects, and Autodesk MAYA.
